SAN DIEGO, California — At a San Diego Comic‑Con panel on Thursday, “South Park” co-creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone brought up their controversial Trump episode.

Parker then issued a sarcastic “We’re terribly sorry” in response to the White House’s seething reaction to the show’s latest episode of its 27th season, the Associated Press reported.

In the episode titled “Sermon on the ‘Mount,’” the satirical duo depicted President Donald Trump in naked, AI-generated form, even lying in bed with Satan, next to a personified cartoon representation of male genitalia with googly eyes. The scene parodied Trump’s combative behavior and a fictional $16 million media settlement.

Though Comedy Central executives demanded the visual be blurred, Parker and Stone resisted, ultimately adding cartoon eyes to the genitalia to classify it as a ‘character’ and avoid censorship, according to AP.

The episode coincided with major corporate disruption. Paramount Global’s merger with Skydance Media delayed the season premiere, and on the same day the episode aired, Parker and Stone finalized a $1.5 billion, five-year deal granting streaming rights for new and back catalog episodes.

Trump has not issued a public statement directly addressing the recent “South Park”episode that satirizes him.

White House Assistant Press Secretary Taylor Rogers, however, issued a statement regarding Wednesday’s episode to Fox News on Thursday.

“The Left’s hypocrisy truly has no end — for years, they have come after ‘South Park’ for what they labeled as ‘offense’ [sic] content, but suddenly they are praising the show,” Rogers stated. “Just like the creators of “South Park,” the Left has no authentic or original content, which is why their popularity continues to hit record lows. This show hasn’t been relevant for over 20 years and is hanging on by a thread with uninspired ideas in a desperate attempt for attention. President Trump has delivered on more promises in just six months than any other president in our country’s history — and no fourth-rate show can derail President Trump’s hot streak.”
