MOAB, Utah (KUTV) — A photo circulating online that appears to show an ICE agent at a high school has been debunked by the Moab City Police Department.
The department said on social media that the image was generated using artificial intelligence software.
“Hoaxes like these are dangerous, and when they cause public alarm, they become criminal. We will be investigating this incident, and those responsible will be dealt with appropriately,” the department said.
Officials added that the school resource officer has been at the school all day, along with Grand County School District administrators, and that only local officers were present at Moab schools.
